Prudence Mhlophe

I am a British Zimbabwean. I started with a Diploma in Agriculture in Zimbabwe before I came to the UK where I did my undergraduate in BSc Honours degree in Agriculture with Environment Management at Harper Adams University in 2002 -2005. I then did a MSc in Environmental Protection and Management at Edinburgh University in 2014 to 2015. I have always been passionate about agriculture and soil science.

I am funded by the James McCune Smith Scholarships (JMS) and I am also working as part of the GALLANT project Work Package 3 that looks and Regeneration of Vacant and Derelict Land. My PhD project focuses on use of Spent Coffee Grounds and Biochar in the remediation of heavy metal contaminated urban sols in Glasgow. I also work part time as a JMS student Intern.
